Curious about which YouTube videos are trending in your region or across the country? There's a map for that.

YouTube today launched the "YouTube Trends Map," which displays the day's most popular videos in major markets across the U.S. You can sort the map based on gender, age group and the number of shares or views.

YouTube says the map is "the result of all the great feedback you've given us from the Trends Dashboard, as we keep working to help you find great videos and channels on YouTube."

The Trends Dashboard was introduced in 2010 as part of the YouTube Trends toolset and lets you compare the most viewed and shared videos across a variety of locations and demographics. This map is a visualization of that information.

The information it uses, YouTube says, is compiled from information reported by registered, logged-in users in their YouTube account profiles. It does not track the usernames that view specific videos nor does it release information about individual users.

This afternoon, the most-viewed video among 13-17 year olds is "10 Things You Should Never Say to a Guy." In contrast, the most popular video among the 55-64 age group is the True Blood Season 6 Trailer.

As for why certain videos are popular among 13-17 year olds, YouTube says, "No one will ever know..."

YouTube's Trends Map is available only for the U.S.
